We recommend a dental checkup every six months. At this appointment we will provide the patient with a dental cleaning, routine exam, and checkup x-rays. For children we do recommend a fluoride treatment which helps to strengthen the teeth.
A crown is also referred to as a “cap”. When a tooth is not strong enough to support itself we reinforce it with a covering. This covering looks just like a tooth and can be made out of porcelain, metal, or gold. We then cement it permanently in the mouth over the tooth.
Root canal therapy is performed when a tooth has a very deep cavity or when a tooth has experienced trauma. There is soft tissue inside of the tooth known as the pulp. During a root canal a small hole is made on the biting surface of the tooth and the pulp is removed completely. This should eliminate pain and any feeling from the tooth.
Amalgam (silver) fillings are composed of a metallic material and are typically used on the back teeth. Composite (tooth colored) fillings are composed of a hard plastic. This type of material is often the preferred method for restorations. Finally, the cast gold restoration is the most durable material used for fillings.
Home whitening trays take about 1 week to 3 weeks for results. They must be used between 30mins to 1 hour each day to receive the greatest results. We actually recommend the home whitening trays to our patients because they are able to conveniently whiten at their own pace. The patient can also use the extra whitening gel that they will have to touch up at a later time.

Dr. David Nepa
Dr. Brian Peck
We have been coming to Dr. Nepa’s office for years and first got to know Dr. Nepa and staff because of our child’s orthodontist recommendation. The orthodontist said, “Yes, I can give you a recommendation, because I’ve seen a lot of work in children’s mouths. The best work I have seen is from Dr. Nepa’s office!” Good enough for us and we have been happy with Dr. Nepa and staff for years. Everyone in the office is professional including the hygienists, staff and front desk folks.”
“I have always had a great experience at Dr. Nepa’s office. The staff is always courteous and professional.”
"Often we find ourselves searching for a good mechanic, hairdresser, handyman, etc..... Such was the case for me 10 years ago when I was looking for a good dentist. An extremely friendly and very knowledgeable staff immediately impressed me as well as how Dr. Nepa could make even a root canal seem pleasant. Through a location move and additions in staff over the years, I've remained a patient of this office because they're still good, they still know their stuff and they still really care about
their patients. I haven't had to search for a dentist in 10 years."
